Meet the Instructor
Carlos Morales was born in Puerto Rico, where he developed a passion for baseball at an early age and quickly became recognized as one of the island’s top young talents. Throughout his playing career, he earned Batting Champion honors in Crown Leagues, American Legion Baseball, Double-A, and Triple-A competition, showcasing his consistency and elite offensive ability.
From 1986 through 1988, Carlos was considered one of the top Shortstop prospects in Puerto Rico, gaining recognition for his defensive skills, baseball IQ, leadership, and athleticism on the field. His accomplishments led to being selected twice as an All-American player and eventually signing professionally with the New York Mets organization in 1992.
Following his playing career, Carlos dedicated himself to developing the next generation of athletes through coaching and mentorship. He has coached players ranging from 5 to 18 years old and brings over 8 years of Travel Baseball coaching experience. His coaching philosophy focuses on discipline, fundamentals, mental toughness, and player development both on and off the field.
Carlos specializes in developing infielders and hitters, helping young athletes improve their mechanics, baseball IQ, confidence, and overall performance. His passion for the game and commitment to player growth continue to make a positive impact on athletes and families throughout the baseball community.

Developmental Teams Open Practices

Open practices are a great way for players and families to get to know a travel program before committing. At CL Baseball Academy, we run open practices with clear structure, consistent coaching, and opportunities for players to showcase skills while learning team expectations.
Logistics and preparation
Bring full baseball gear: glove, helmet, bat, cleats, hat, and water bottle.
Arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and get a brief orientation.
Wear layers appropriate for the weather; practices run rain or shine unless otherwise canceled.
Expect to be evaluated; plan for 60–90 minutes depending on age group.
